In the following blog i will be looking at and analysing a very old podcast one that has been around for a long time this podcast/Radio show is none other then desert island disk i will be going into great detail about how the podcast is strutted and how it works to determine how it has become such a great success.
Desert island disk has been a radio show / podcast for decades one of the first of its kind the podcast is about a hypothetical situation in which the guest is stranded on a celebrity island and has only pieces of music to listen to which then goes into deeper discussion into which why that music has been selected does it have an effect on themselves or there work at the end they pick the one piece of music they find most important.
Also a book is given to them one which has a philosophical title such as the bible or Shakespeare.
Desert island disk biographical factual podcast this means it reflects on that of a persons life finding out as much information about that person as possible with interviews or questions in this cause it uses hypothetical situations to find out information about a person and there life determining there choices on music and this has effected them.
The podcast is presenter based as he introduces the podcast and the guest however it is also an interview based format in which there is more then one person speaking it is an interview based podcast as with it being a biographical podcast the entail point is to find information out about the guest on the show.
The podcast is subjective as there is no fact involved as it is the guests choices and opinions that shape the outcome of the podcast meaning that different responses from different guests makes a different outcome for the show as this about choices made by the guest there is no fact behind it this is can cause a further discussion into detail making a more interesting podcast for the listener.
The audience for this podcast is more suited to a much older generation who are either retired or that of an elderly age gender however does not come into terms with this podcast as it is neutral however the guests on the show do not appeal to that of a younger generation the age gap is to wide for a younger generation to understand who these guests are.
The social class would be working class people who are a very elderly age however this can also be middle age as well but more suited to that of an older generation.
